Our
Story
Warrior Peak Botanicals is very much a love story of the intertwining of two spirits and their shared reverence for plant medicine from a rooted perspective that honors both science and spirit...
In the Land of Enchantment, around a
sacred fire on a most auspicious
morning, Nicholas Honeylion and
Montana Dreisbach decided, perhaps
against all “logic,” but truly in
conscious momentum of our highest
selves, to marry one another.
It was May 2016 when Montana Dreisbach
became Montana Honeylion as she and
Nico took their sacred vows in Taos,
New Mexico. Although never intending
to marry so young, Montana and Nico
recognized that some decisions are
written long before the linear mind
can comprehend them. In relationship,
we have been able to reach places of
growth, expansion, and spirit we could
have never accomplished individually.
We’ve learned to complement one another and are always learning and recommitting back to our highest selves. This is the energy we strive to bring into our lives, a shared reverence for the sacred, and especially within our relationship with plants.
When they eloped, Nico shared a vision he had been harboring for some time with Montana: an herbal business called “Warrior Peak Botanicals.”
Born and raised in born and raised in Kitsap, Washington, Nico spent much of his late teens and early twenties initiating himself in the wilderness, climbing treacherous peaks and getting to know himself through communing with the land. Warrior Peak is one of the mountains in the Olympic Mountain range and one especially challenging and dear to Nico’s spirit.
Montana was raised primarily in Rhode Island with her mother who is Cherokee and Choctaw and grew up drinking what her mom deemed, “Medicine Tea,” whenever anyone had any sniffles or colds. She recalls a single large metal pot that never left the stovetop from November to May, constantly being replenished and even occasionally burning the herbs then and again. Originally striving to become a holistic psychiatrist, she learned of Bastyr University and the word, “herbalist” when she was eighteen and eventually moved to Washington state to pursue those teachings. It was while she was obtaining the rest of her prerequisites for Bastyr that she and Nico crossed paths.
At the time of their elopement, Montana had just committed to starting her herbal program, a Bachelors of Science in Herbal Sciences at Bastyr University. She held their shared dream closely as she underwent rigorous academia for the next couple of years. Raised with indigenous values, Montana’s approach to herbalism focuses on sustainability in all aspects with the integration of science and spirit.
Warrior Peak Botanicals is just that—a small business offering organic and ethically wildcrafted sustainable, small batch botanicals crafted from t he integration of science and spirit. We powder every plant in house for our miels and create small batches so that quality is never compromised. All of our honey is local from Kitsap and Tacoma. And each of the fresh plant extracts are grown here on our little half acre on traditional Suquamish land in Indianola. We only work with plants that can be bountifully harvested and are not endangered or at risk of overharvest. We also do not promote the exploitation of indigenous plants and are careful to select plants that are common plantcestors for all to be in right relationship with. Warrior Peak Botanicals is founded on the integrity of sustainability and reciprocity for the land and plant beings and we work to ensure that the plants are being honored in our relationship with them as we craft these herbal medicines.
